About the band
The State Streets Band is an eight-piece band from Woodbridge, Virginia, made up of a five-piece rhythm section and a three-piece horn section. The band focuses its sound on the most memorable music of the Blues, Motown and Classic Rock.
Members of the band have performed as sidemen for local blues legends such as Robert Lee Byrd (a.k.a. Byrd), Darryl Davis, John Jackson and William “Whop” Frazier, and for world-class artists including John Lee Hooker, Jr., Marian McPartland, The Four Tops and Okyerema Asante (Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon, Hugh Masekela).
